I would bring my accounts back to Fidelity if they fixed Active Trader Pro and also if they released Active Trader Pro as a mobile app. So, even though Active Trader Pro looks stunning (especially in Dark Mode), has nice features, and seems to be less complicated than Think or Swim when it comes to adding indicators, TA studies, etc., the instability of Active Trader Pro (especially on the Mac) is really disappointing. Active Trader Pro no longer slows down the entire system, but it freezes up every few hours and it crashes overnight every single day.
Now I have a new 2020 M1 MacBook Air (this is not an Intel-based architecture but an ARM-based one), which is a lot more powerful than my previous Mac. When I transferred to TDA, Think or Swim ran fine on the same computer. However, I still have accounts open at Fidelity, so I started taking some of their live online classes on trading.Īctive Trader Pro was very unstable and resource-intensive on my 2018 MacBook Air a year ago, taking most of its resources and making the entire computer extremely unstable. I did it mostly because Think or Swim allows you to trade in Paper Money, as you are learning the ins and outs of trading as well as Think or Swim as an application. I transferred all my accounts from Fidelity to TDA and have been using Think or Swim for a year now.
